Rabid dog bites 30 in Mysore

The first case was reported at Hampapura, on the ourskirts of Mysore, where a seven-year-old boy was attacked by the dog causing injuries in his face. The father of the boy, who rushed to the rescue of his son, was also bitten by the ferocious dog.

The mongrel then bolted from the scene and went on a biting spree in the surrounding villages, attacking as many as 30 people of all age groups. The oldest man to be attacked is 55. He sustained a bite very close to his eye.

The youngest victim is six-year-old Basavanna from Bhugatahalli. The injured have been shifted to Epidemic Diseases (ED) Hospital on KRS Road.
