Rains pound DK, Udupi, Chikmagalur districts

A house was damaged after the parapet of a state highway collapsed near Kadri Barebailu.
Belthangady and Sullia have received the highest rainfall in Dakshina Kannada district.

While Mangalore has received 41.8 mm of rainfall, Bantwal recorded 44.4 mm, Puttur 28 mm, Belthangady 112 mm and Sullia 77.6 mm.

Udupi district has received 73.27 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. Kundapur taluk has received the highest rainfall of 118.8 mm, while Karkala has received 57.2 mm and Udupi taluk 43.8 mm.

Low-lying areas in Udupi city have been inundated. Fallen tree branches hindered movement of vehicles at a few places.

Chikmagalur district received incessant rain in the morning and the intensity of the precipitation rose noon. Sringeri, Mudigere, N R Pura, Koppa and Balehonnur have also received good rainfall in the last two days. A tree was uprooted near Jakkanahalli village of Chikmagalur taluk, affecting traffic movement for some time.

In Shimoga

The catchment area of the Linganamakki dam received 211 mm in the last 24 hours, resulting in the rise of water level in the reservoir by two feet on Sunday.

A present, 28,819 cusec of water is flowing into the Linganamakki dam. The water level is at 1765.30 feet. The catchment area of the Bhadra reservoir has received around 9.4 mm and 9,048 cusec of water has flown into the dam.

The water level at the dam stands at 153.10 feet. Hulikal in Hosanagar taluk has received 138 mm of rainfall, Yaduru 117 mm and Mastikatte 129 mm. Tirthahalli and Sagar have also received good rainfall.

In Davangere

Davangere district has received normal rainfall, 5.9 mm, in the last 24 hours.
