<p>Rangayana Director Lingadevaru Halemane told reporters here on Thursday that following a long pending proposal from the office of Chief Minister, it is intended to open an unit of Rangayana at Shimoga, apart from Gulbarga. <br /><br />To create a congenial atmosphere, Rangayana will be hosting ‘Navarathri Rangotsava’ in both the districts in the forthcoming navarathri. This will be followed by theatre camps at these two districts, he added. <br /><br />However, Rangayana will go ahead further only after studying the pros and cons of opening units, Halemane clarified. Rangayana is also hosting a four-day theatre festival ‘B V Karanth Namana- 2010’ from September 25 in commemoration of the late theatre personality B V Karanth.<br /><br />Plays like ‘Mayaseetha Prasanga’, ‘Sangathi Arimai’, ‘Agalide Aalake’ and ‘Draupadi’ will be staged during the four-day period, Halemane said.</p>
