The controversial Vivekananda Hospital here will be sealed by the district administration.

The hospital was in the news recently after it was found to have dumped foetuses at public places. After the hospital failed to reply to the notices issued by the district Health and Family Welfare and Pollution Control Board authorities, it has been decided to cancel its registration and seal the premises. An official order will be issued in two days, said sources.

The hospital was served three notices and January 16 is the deadline for the third notice. However, till now no reply has been received from the hospital, said District Health Officer Dr Channabasappa.

In the meantime, hospital chief Dr Mahendra has gone missing and three criminal cases have been filed each under PC&PNDT Act, 1994 and MTP Act, 2003 at Doddapet, Jayanagar and Tunga police stations.  He is said to be in Hyderabad now and police have formed teams to lookout for him.
