State budget on July 5

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday announced that he will be presenting the first budget of his coalition government on July 5.

Kumaraswamy, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will be presenting the full-fledged budget for the remaining part of the financial year 2018-19. The previous Congress government headed by Siddaramaiah had presented a vote-on-account budget in February this year ahead of the Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, Kumaraswamy started holding pre-budget meetings for preparing the budget document. He held closed-door meetings with his ministerial colleagues and heads of various departments.
