The Anti-Corruption Bureau police on Friday arrested a sub-registrar on charges of graft. The accused is Thimma Reddy, sub-registrar of Attibele in Anekal taluk.
The complainant, a resident of Aralur village in Anekal taluk, had entered into a registered agreement in 2011 to develop his land. He had approached the office of the sub-registrar to cancel the sale agreement along with the court order.
The sub-registrar, Thimma Reddy, demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh to cancel the agreement. The ACB sleuths laid a trap and arrested the middleman, Kumar, while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh. The police later arrested Thimma Reddy.
