Actor Sumalatha Ambareesh on Friday thanked the state government and the people of Karnataka for their love and support following the demise of her husband, actor-turned-politician, Ambareesh.

She was speaking at the condolence meet organised by Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce in Bengaluru.

“My husband led life like a king and he was treated alike even during his last journey. You people have bid adieu to him with a heavy heart. I thank Kumaranna (Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy) on behalf of my family, friends, film industry, crores of Ambareesh fans and mainly the people of Mandya and for all the arrangements he made during his last journey. I also thank police personnel for their day-and-night effort in providing security for all three days,” said an emotional Sumalatha.

She also thanked the media for taking Ambareesh’s harsh words in a sportive way and being with him all through the life. “I thank media for the love and respect towards him. Though he was using ‘good language,’ you never bothered and took it sportively. This shows the place you have given to him in your hearts,” she said.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said that there won’t be any discrimination among the three stalwarts of Kannada industry – Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan and Ambareesh. “The contribution of all three actors is precious for our industry. There won’t be any discrimination among them. I promise to solve the issue related Vishnuvardhan’s memorial shortly,” Kumaraswamy said.
