J P Nadda to visit poll-bound Karnataka on January 5 and 6

BJP national president J P Nadda is scheduled to attend several party events lined up at Tumakuru, Davangere and Chitradurga on January 5 and 6.

During his visit, Nadda is slated to visit a number of mutts.

Speaking to reporters, BJP state vice-president Nirmal Kumar Surana said Nadda will arrive in Tumkuru on January 5 and attend a meeting with Shakti Kendra chiefs. He will visit the Siddaganga Mutt.

On January 6, Nadda will address a huge public rally at Sira taluk of Tumkuru before he leaves for New Delhi on the same day.

According to Surana, Nadda will also travel to Chitradurga where he will garland statues of Onake Obavva, Veera Madakari Nayaka and Dr B R Ambedkar, icons of Dalit and Valmiki communities. There, Nadda will take part in an OBC convention.

Nadda will visit Sri Madarachannaiah Swami, a prominent Dalit pontiff and the Sirigere Mutt, which belongs to the Sadar-Lingayat sub-sect that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai belongs to. The BJP national chief will participate in the Booth Vijaya campaign besides addressing party leaders and elected representatives in a meeting.

BJP national general secretary Arun Singh, who oversees the party’s affairs in Karnataka, will accompany Nadda.
