MP flags off MEMU train in Mysuru

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha flagged off the Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train here on Sunday, adding one more train between the two cities Mysuru and Bengaluru.

The rail service will function officially from December 26. The train fare from Mysuru to Bengaluru is Rs 30. The train will run between the two cities for four days a week, making it convenient for those leaving the city in the evening, as there is no train between 7 pm and 11.55 pm. While the Bengaluru-Mysuru MEMU will run on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the Mysuru-Bengaluru train will run on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It will depart Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) station at 7.55 pm and reach Mysuru at 10.50 pm. However, the return journey from Mysuru will be at 4.45 am and reach Bengaluru at 8.30 am.

MLA L Nagendra, MLC Sandesh Nagaraj, Maritibbegowda, Divisional Railway Manager Aparna Garg, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Ajay Sinha were present.
