<p class="bodytext">Minorities Welfare and Wakf Minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan had convened a meeting of the community leaders on Monday, in a bid to ascertain the demands of the Muslim community ahead of the budget.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Around 15 Muslim MLAs and MLCs from the JD(S) and Congress were present at the late evening meeting, which was held at a private hotel.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Before the meeting, Khan said he had sent out invitations to all Muslim leaders, cutting across party lines.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He said the objective of the meeting was to gather suggestions and feedback of the Muslim legislators, before he presented a wishlist during the pre-budget meeting with Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on June 27. Senior leaders Roshan Baig and Tanveer Sait, who are miffed with the Congress for not being inducted into the Cabinet, gave the meeting a miss.</p>
