VTU denies question paper leak

Last Updated 15 June 2018, 14:31 IST

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has denied that question papers of Mathematics-2 subject under CBCS system for which examination was held on Thursday were leaked due to the negligence of the varsity. Question papers are delivered online to the examination centre colleges 30 minutes prior to examination schedule, hence earlier leakage is not possible.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Karisiddappa told Deccan Herald on Friday that VTU delivers online question papers to the colleges 30 minutes prior to the examination. They have to be decoded and later printouts could be taken for making the question paper available for the students appearing for the examination, hence prior leakage was not possible.

There have been allegations from a section of students that the question papers were available on WhatsApp at about 9.04 am on Thursday in Bengaluru and Chikamagalur, but none of them has been coming forward to make the source known. We too have a system and will investigate who leaked them and action be taken against those if found responsible, he stated.
