Death time can be traced by observing microbe arrival in decomposing bodies
In a study that has the potential to advance forensic science to help investigators probe a case, a team of experts at the Colorado State University decomposed 36 dead bodies for a year while observing the role of insects that are responsible for the arrival of a network of 20 microbes that drive the decomposition process.

'Arctic ocean may be invaded by microbes from tropics'
Global warming may cause the microscopic organisms habiting the polar regions of the Earth's oceans, such as the Arctic, to be slowly conquered by their counterparts from the tropical regions, affecting multiple ecosystems, according to two major studies which assessed more than 35,000 samples collected from all the world's oceans between 2009 and 2013.
