Modi also announced that India will contribute $1 million to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre which will be used for capacity building, technical assistance and conservation of world heritage sites. He also underlined that this money will be useful for the countries of the Global South.

Kerala's Kozhikode celebrates UNESCO's 'City of Literature' title
A batch of students of NIT-C department of architecture and planning did the study as part of their academic work in 2023 which culminated in Kozhikode receiving the title. Kozhikode is among the 55 cities to be included in UNESCO's 'City of Literature'. There are around 300 other cities from different countries that are included in the Creative cities network of UNESCO.
