Google teases Pixel 10 Pro, set for India launch on August 21

Google earlier this month formally sent out invitation to select media houses in the west for Pixel hardware event slated to kick off on August 20. However, there was no information on availability of devices in other global markets.

Now, the company has officially announced that new Pixel 10 devices will be released in India on August 21.

Google India took to X platform to reveal that new Pixel 10 Pro will be available with special offers on the official Google Store in India.

"Google Store subscribers who are signed up by 19 August, 12:30 PM IST, will get an exclusive offer to use with Pixel 10 series phones. The offer will be sent on the day that the phones are available for pre-order," the company said.

Here's what to expect at the Google hardware event in August:

Like the previous iterations, Google Pixel 10 is expected to be available in four models - a standard Pixel 10, a top-end Pixel 10 Pro, a Pixel 10 Pro XL with a bigger display and an ultra-premium Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

All the new Pixel 10 variants will be powered by Google's proprietary Tensor G5 chipset. It is said to come big upgrade to deliver lag-free performance and be able to run generative Artificial Intelligence features such as Gemini Live, and computational photography tools such as Magic Editor, without any lag-ness as such.

This time, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will come with more durable build materials and will also feature an IP68 rating, a first for a foldable Pixel series phone to date.

It will be able to survive an accidental fall in a water body like a swimming pool for up to a depth of 1.5 metres (around five feet) for close to 30 minutes.

Also, new Pixel 10 series phones are expected to get improved and brighter display panels compared to the previous iterations. Also, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will get a bigger battery than its predecessor.

Besides the new Pixel 10 series phones, Google is also expected to unveil Pixel Watch 4. It is said to come with improved health tracking capabilities and deliver longer battery life.

And, Google is also expected to bring new generation Pixel Buds series premium truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones.
