Motorola Pad 60 Pro review: Feature-rich mid-range tablet

For the asking price, the device has the right balance of features for entertainment and creative artwork. And, with the free Moto Pen Pro stylus, it becomes an even more compelling reason to buy the Pad 60 Pro.

With the emergence of online education and productivity tools for work, tablets have gained tremendous traction worldwide, including India.

Last year, it registered more than 5.73 million tablet shipments with a strong 42.8 per cent growth. Even in the first quarter of 2025, there was 15 per cent year-over-year growth.

While Xiaomi and Lenovo cater to the budget buyers, Samsung and Apple lead in the niche premium segment. Now, Motorola, a mobile phone pioneer, has forayed into to tablet arena in India with the launch of Moto Pad 60 Pro with prices starting at Rs 26,999.

Design, build quality and display

The Moto Pad 60 Pro comes in a slim design with a massive display. It has a premium aluminium-based metal enclosure on the back with a matte finish and does a pretty good job of repelling fingerprint smudges to an extent. Also, it comes IP52 water splash resistant rating.

Motorola device measures just 6.9 mm in thickness and weighs around 600 grams. The tablet, though big, is easy to carry around with one hand and also in a backpack in a dedicated slot for a tablet.

That said, I recommend prospective Moto Pad 60 Pro buyers invest in a good folio cover case for protection. Even a small drop from knee height on a rough floor can damage the display.

It has a lone camera at the top left corner with an LED flash. Just below it, the company has incorporated a magnetic strip underneath the panel so that users can dock the Moto Pen Pro stylus, which, by the way, comes free with the device. The magnetic pull is very strong and keeps the stylus in its place.

Further, the device also features a pogo-pin dock to attach any compatible keyboard accessory, which has to be purchased separately.

At the centre, it has an iconic batwing (M) logo of Motorola inside a glossy circular panel. And, further below, you will find the Dolby Atmos and JBL branding.

By the way, the device has dual microphones, an 8MP front camera, and four speakers, two on each side (in landscape orientation).

At the top, the Pad 60 Pro features a power button, which also houses a fingerprint sensor. It works smoothly with a lower false rejection rate.

On the front, Motorola Moto Pad 60 Pro sports a 12.7-inch 3K (2944 x1840p) LTPS LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and comes with a pixel density of 273 ppi (pixels per inch) and 400 nits peak brightness.

The colours appear as bright and vivid to deliver a good viewing experience indoors. However, outdoors, people will face reflection issues and have to take a little closer to the face to read news articles or emails or messages.

It is also great for gaming. However, due to the large size of the display, it is not suitable for playing battle royale genre titles. But, it is good for playing board games such as Ludo, Chess, or legacy titles such as Candy Crush, Angry Birds, Temple Run and Fruit Ninja.

It also comes with a Type-C port for data transfer and also supports 45W charging speed. The company offers the device in just one colour variant- PANTONE-certified bronze green.

Performance

Inside, it comes with a 4nm class MediaTek Dimensity 8300 octa-core processor with Mali-G615 GPU.

The device works smoothly without any issues. It supports several gaming titles and also generative Artificial Intelligence features including Circle to Search.

It runs a two-year-old Android 14 OS, but on the bright side, it has a clean user interface with just core Google and Motorola apps. There is enough space for users to install hundreds of apps of their choice. Also, the device microSD card slot and users can expand memory up to 1TB extra.

The device comes in two configurations-- 8GB LPDDR5X RAM + 12GB storage (UFS 3.1), and 12GB LPDDR5X + 256GB (UFS 4.1) storage.

As noted earlier, the company offers a Moto Pen Pro stylus free with the retail box. It is great for creating digital art and also taking notes. There is very low latency, and while drawing, it can automatically detect palm resting on the display and ensure the pressure is not registered on the drawing canvas or the notepad; only the stylus input is taken.

The device also supports several editing tools available on the Google Play Store.

With Smart Connect, users can pair with compatible smart TVs, computers and external displays with less hassle.

And, with Moto Secure, it offers protection against malware, password-locked folders for sensitive files, wireless network protection and more.

With a 13MP auto focus camera with LED flash on the back, users can take clear photos and videos, but not as good as smartphones. It is better suited to take snaps of documents and convert them to PDF or any preferred format.

It also features a really good 8MP front camera. It can record full HD 1080p quality video, perfect for video calling, provided there is a stable Wi-Fi internet connection.

The device houses a massive 10,200mAh battery. It can easily deliver more than 10 hours of video playback. Under mixed usage, it can last for up to 36 hours.

With a 45W charger, it takes more than one hour to fully charge from zero to 100 per cent.

Final thoughts

Motorola's Moto Pad 60 Pro is a good first attempt to test the waters in the Indian tablet market. It has really good build quality, delivers smooth performance and long battery life.
