India, Russia hold 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue in Delhi

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr S Jaishankar with Russian Defence Minister General Sergey Shoigu and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held the first-ever 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue in Delhi on December 06. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, “India-Russia Defence engagements have progressed in an unprecedented manner in recent times. We hope Russia will remain a major partner for India in these challenging circumstances.”

Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu said, “Russia-India Defence cooperation is important for the relations between our two countries during these times. I am confident that Russia and India will help in enhancing regional security."

EAM Jaishankar said, “India-Russia meeting today will address emergence of multipolarity and rebalancing. We look at the consequence of over-centralized globalisation. Long standing challenges of terrorism, violent extremism remain among newer challenges.
