A one-day workshop on “Designer Drugs – Escalating Public Health Challenge” will be held at KMC Interact Lecture Hall here, on March 12 from 9 am.

The workshop is jointly organised by MAHE's Centre for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (CNPS), Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology Centre for Clinical Forensics.

CNPS Coordinator Dr Shreekumar Menon said the workshop would discuss topics like--challenges of new and emerging drugs, drug analogues and novel substances – emerging trends and analytical challenges, Designer Drugs – chemical content and effects – poisoning and overdoses and recent trends in Designer Drugs abuse–a challenge for enforcement agencies and others.
