Workshop on Yakshagana on October 24

A one-day workshop on ‘Thenkuthittu Yakshagana Himmela,’ organsied jointly by Karnataka Yakshagana Academy, Dr P Dayananda Pai and P Sathi Pai Yakshagana Study Centre of Mangalore University and Kalagangothri Yakshagana Centre-Someshwara-Ucchila, will be held at Mangalagangothri Kalakendra on October 24.

Mangalore University In Charge Vice Chancellor Dr Kishore Kumar C K will inaugurate the workshop while Yakshagana exponent Dr M Prabhakar Joshi will be the chief guest. Yakshagana Academy president Prof M A Hegde will preside over the workshop.

Dr Shimanthooru Narayana Shetty, Balipa Narayana Bhagavatha, Dr K M Raghava Nambiar, Kuriya Ganapathi Shasthri, K Sadananda Aithal, K Govinda Bhat Soorikumeru, Mambadi Subrahmanya Bhat, Kargallu Vishweshwara Bhat and Padyana Shankaranarayana Bhat will be the resource persons.

For the demonstration, artistes like Krishna Prakash Ulithaya, Diwana Shivashankar Bhat, Dinesh Bhat Yallapura, Andala Deviprasad Shetty, Deevith Kotian, Talapady Deviprasad Alva, Bhavyasri Kulkunda, Dheeraj Rai Sampaje, Mayur Nayga Madooru will take part.

Mangalore University Registrar Prof A M Khan will preside over the valedictory, scheduled to be held on the same day.
