Another Boeing accident after Dutch flight skids off runway in Oslo, none injured: Report

A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL) Boeing 737-800 had to undergo an emergency landing on December 28 after which it veered off the runway at Oslo Torp Sandefjord Airport. The Boeing lost control during the landing roll after which it skidded off onto the the adjacent grass terrain.

There were reportedly 182 occupants, including the crew members, in the aircraft that had initially departed from the Oslo Airport but later got diverted to Torp Sandefjord.

This comes at a time when another Boeing 737-800 jet was involved in a crash that killed at least 151 people today.

Boeing offered condolences and said it is in touch with South Korea's Jeju Air after the deadly crash. While the cause of the crash was not immediately known, investigators are looking into the same.

Last month, a Qantas Airways plane bound for Brisbane suffered an engine failure after take-off and circled for a short period of time before returning safely to Sydney Airport, the Australian airline said. Passengers heard a loud bang from one of the aircraft's two engines, Australian media reported.

This too, was a 19-year-old Boeing 737-800 plane.
