<p>A <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bangladesh">Bangladesh</a> court has issued an arrest warrant against cricketer <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/shakib-al-hasan">Shakib Al Hasan</a> over a case of bounced cheques, the total sum of which is more than $300,000 (Rs 2.6 crore approx.) as per a report by <em>AFP</em>.</p><p>Bangladesh's IFIC Bank had filed the case against the ace cricketer-cum-former politician.</p><p>An official of the bank told <em>AFP</em>, "The court has previously summoned Shakib but he did not appear at the court", adding, "now, the court has issued the warrant."</p><p>Notably Shakib belonged to deposed Bangladesh Prime Minister <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/sheikh-hasina">Sheikh Hasina's</a> party, the Awami League, and was a member of the country's Parliament till the same was dissolved after Hasina fled the country.</p>.Fresh blow for Shakib, fails second bowling action test ahead of Champions Trophy.<p>The publication reports that Shakib, among other Awami League members, was a target of public anger after hundreds of lives were lost during the student protests in the country last year.</p><p>He was also reportedly facing murder investigations, but has not been charged over such allegations.</p><p>The latest troubles for the cricketer comes after he was suspended from bowling after failing an independent re-assessment post the suspension issued by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said on Saturday.</p><p>"While Shakib is currently unable to bowl, he is eligible to continue playing as a batsman in all forms of domestic and international cricket," the BCB said in a statement.</p><p>In 2019, Shakib had received a two-year ban from playing after the International Cricket Council found he had breached its anti-corruption code.</p>
