'See you in city jail': KATSEYE's Lara falsely reported to US immigration authorities as 'illegal alien'

Indian-origin musician Lara Rajagopalan, a member of KATSEYE group, has been reported for illegally staying in the US.

Lara was reported to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as an 'illegal alien'.

According to a screenshot of an anonymous ICE tip form, Lara has not obtained necessary visa and legal status to work and reside in US.

The picture shared on social media showed content written in the column 'summary of the criminal activity'.

"There is an illegal alien in l.a known by the name Lara Rajagopalan, she has not obtained the necessary visa or legal status required to remain in the US and appears to be working and residing in the United States without legal authorisation," the form read along with, "See you in the city jail @lararaj (sic)."

In a post on X a fan shared the screenshots saying, "Blocking everyone who justifies racism towards Lara over fanwars it’s ALWAYS her who has to deal with such things because she’s Indian. Do people think deportation jokes are funny? This happened to Hanni and now to Lara they’re getting called “illegal alliens” over kpop fanwars (sic)."

Indian-American Lara who was born in Tamil Nadu's Chennai is an actor, singer and dancer who had started training at the age of four. Lara also has an elder sister.

She had appeared in NBC's The Blacklist and also played a main role in Michelle Obama's Global Girls Alliance campaign video.

KATSEYE is a global girl group which consists of six members - Manon, Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae.

It was formed through a reality show The Debut: Dream Academy and is signed under HYBE and Geffen Records.

The group on June 28, 2024, debuted with a digital single Debut.
