<p>A man in <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/spain">Spain</a> vanished from his workplace but still kept receiving his salary for about six years.</p><p>According to a <a href="https://www.elmundo.es/andalucia/2016/02/10/56bb61b8e2704e90628b45c8.html" rel="nofollow">report</a> by Spanish newspaper <em>El Mundo</em>, Joaquin Garcia who was a plant supervisor at a water treatment facility in Cadiz, skipped work for six years and no one in the workplace noticed this disappearance.</p><p>During his disappearance for 6 years, the man kept receiving his monthly salary which too went unnoticed at his workplace.</p><p>Garcia's disappearance was discovered when he was chosen to be awarded for his long service in 2010.</p><p>According to media reports, he had started working at a municipal water firm in Spain's Cadiz as a plant supervisor in 1990.</p>.Spain prosecutor requests retrial of ex-football boss Rubiales over Hermoso kiss.<p>Since there was a mix-up of bosses at the workplace, he used to skip work taking advantage of it, where the two departments presumed that the other is responsible for monitoring Gracia's work.</p><p>This led to Garcia skipping work for six months and still receiving his complete salary of Rs 36 lakh pa ($41,500) without doing any work.</p><p>According to <em>El</em> <em>Mundo</em>, Jorge Blas Fernandez who had hired Garcia said, "We thought the water company was supervising him but that was not the case. We found out when we were about to present him with a commemorative plaque for 20 years of service."</p><p>When Garcia was caught by Jorge, he had no proper reasoning when asked about his disappearance. </p><p>He was fined with a penalty of about Rs 25 lakh ($30,000) for disappearing from work for six years.</p>
