He is known to the world as a Trump loyalist alongside talks about his reported enmity with Elon Musk.

He's the new US envoy to India

On Friday, Trump praised Gor’s loyalty and named him next United States Ambassador to the Republic of India, and Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.

“I am pleased to announce that I am promoting Sergio Gor to be our next United States Ambassador to the Republic of India, and Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Gor expressed gratitude to the US President, and wrote, "It will be the honor of my life to represent the United States."

Trump's close aide and 'great friend'

In a recent post, Trump described Gor as his "great friend."

In a congratulatory message, which also listed the new ambassador's previous roles, the US President wrote, "Sergio is a great friend, who has been at my side for many years."

Earlier, the 38-year-old official worked on Trump's Historic Presidential campaigns, published his best selling books, and ran one of the biggest Super PACs.

Sergio previously served the role of the Director of Presidential Personnel.

Not born in the US

Notably, Gor wasn't born in the US. He was born in Uzbekistan when it was still in the Soviet Union, and later moved to Malta during his early childhood. In 1999, when he was 12, his family relocated to the United States, where he became a citizen.

Other notable details

Gor's father is an aviation engineer who was involved in designing aircraft even used by the Indian Air Force, while his mother has a Israeli origin, according to reports.

Gor studied at the George Washington University near the White House. He joined Trump's camp during the 2020 elections, later he hired 4,000 personnel 'across every department of the federal government,' as per Trump.
