BJP targeting 4th win in Chhattisgarh: Brijmohan

The Chhattisgarh Bharatiya Janata Party is targeting the fourth consecutive win to form the government, focusing on the goal set by party national President Amit Shah of winning 65 plus seats.

From top national and state leadership to booth level party workers, all are working round the clock to meet the target, said Agriculture and Water Resources minister and star campaigner Brijmohan Agrawal.

“During the 15 years of rule under BJP, all round developmental works have been undertaken for both infrastructure and economic progress of the state, including the lot of the poor and the farmers. The party is going before the people with the same agenda of overall development. So there is no anti-incumbency factor as being spread by the Opposition. People are actually seeing the work done on the ground and the schemes which are touching the lives of all,” points out the minister, one of the longest serving ministers of Chhattisgarh.

He said the Congress party has no work to show the people as its achievement. People can see the difference between nearly 60 years of rule under Congress and now under the BJP, where they can show clear changes to their lives.

On fighting the upcoming Assembly election under the leadership of the Chief Minister once more, Agrawal said elections are fought under leadership, things change after it. It sends a message among the people of strong and able leadership and it helps to restore the faith of people.

Denying any controversy, Agrawal said, “The land issue is personal issue which cannot be linked or have concerns with the public. So there is no relevance of it.”

Cong vs BJP

On allurements to farmers by Congress and other parties, Brijmohan said, “It is the BJP which has made a systematic procurement of paddy and other crops from farmers. Aligning with technology, changes have been incorporated to ensure that the payments go directly into bank account of farmers. The other agricultural benefits include zero % loans, soil health card, irrigation facilities - electrical and solar - can be gauged from 70,000 pumps to more than 4 lakh pumps at present, flat power rate for irrigation pumps, the list goes on.”

Additionally, procurement prices of foodgrain and pulses have been hiked by Modi government. State government is providing bonus on paddy also, he added.

As youngest MLA and youngest minister from Raipur to present position, he jokingly said, “I have the same confidence and zeal while jumping into the election fray as a young man. Serving the people generates energy from within.”
