JOIN USFor the first time in 20 years, the dams across the Cauvery River have become full by June.
The river is at full flow and the waterfalls are a sight to see. This includes Hogenakkal Falls in Chamarajanagar district at the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border.
The water level in the Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) dam was 103.25 feet at 6 a.m. Wednesday as against a maximum of 124.80 feet. The inflow was 6,389 cusecs and the outflow was 381 cusecs. The outflow will be increased only after the level reaches 120 feet.

The KRS dam receives water from the Harangi dam in the Somwarpet Taluk of Kodagu district and Hemavathi dam in Hassan.
At present, Cauvery is getting water from the Kabini dam across the Kapila River in HD Kote Taluk of Mysuru district. The Kabini dam water level was 2,282.35 feet on Wednesday as against a maximum of 2,284 feet.
The outflow was regulated to 500 cusecs as the inflow had touched 35,000 cusecs due to heavy rains in Kerala.
However, the water already released into the river and from tributaries joining the Cauvery, have brought the falls to life.
