Last Updated 08 February 2019, 12:32 IST

BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa has sought Governor Vajubhai Vala and Legislative Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar to intervene and take stock of the ongoing political developments in the state.

Speaking to reporters, Yeddyurappa said that the “resort brawl” which resulted in Congress MLA Anand Singh’s hospitalisation, had made all 224 lawmakers of Karnataka hang their heads in shame.

“Anand Singh has been fatally attacked in a drunken brawl. The entire incident has made all 224 MLAs hang our heads in shame.

“CLP leader Siddaramaiah is answerable. Also, the police should record Singh’s statement. There should be a detailed probe into the matter. So far they have done nothing,” he added.

The state unit of the party which is trying to gain maximum political mileage from the latest development also lambasted the Congress and its leaders, in a series of tweets.
