‘Re-elect Modi, don’t be overconfident of win’

MLA S Suresh Kumar said that the people in the country want to re-elect Narendra Modi as prime minister again. But, one should not be overconfident about it.

He reminded people of the results of the 2004 election.

Speaking at an interaction with advocates organised by BJP on Tuesday, he said: “There was a conducive atmosphere for re-electing Atal Bihari Vajpayee as PM in 2004. But the results were totally different. The overconfidence of party workers led to the failure to reach out and remind people of the achievements of the party. This resulted in BJP’s defeat in 2004”.

Suresh Kumar said that the whole country had trust in PM Modi. People had confidence in his leadership. Those raising ‘Modi Hatao’ slogans in the past were now raising ‘Modi again’ slogans. “The country is on the right path,” he added.

“Modi considers the entire country as one family; while certain others consider their family as the country. Indira Gandhi had launched ‘Garibi Hatao’ campaign in 1971. Now, her grandson (Rahul) is doing the same. The Nyunatam Aay Yojana (Nyay) scheme is not feasible. Congress considers lying their birthright,” he remarked.

He said that the Opposition parties had been alleging that Narendra Modi was working for the Ambanis and Adani. Had power and LPG (Ujjwala scheme) connections to 18,000 villages benefited Ambanis and Adani?he sought to know.

Changing Constitution

“There is a lot of false propaganda stating that BJP is out to change the Constitution. The Constitution is strong. None can change it. It was the Congress which brought in the highest number of amendments to the Constitution. There is a need to make people aware of all this,” he told party workers.

Earlier, during the BJP workers’ meet at Chilimbigudde, Suresh Kumar said: “India will become a world leader if the BJP comes back to power.

He added, “The BJP candidate from Dakshina Kannada Nalin Kumar Kateel has worked for the development of the district. There is a need to elect Nalin Kumar Kateel in order to re-elect Modi as prime minister.”

MLA Vedavyas Kamath expressed confidence that Nalin Kumar Kateel would win with a margin of over 2 lakh votes. The BJP would win more than 300 seats in the country, he added.
