Ramya skips Ambi's cremation due to leg surgery

Last Updated 18 July 2019, 08:28 IST

Even as netizens and Ambareesh’s fans across Karnataka vent their ire against Sandalwood actress-turned-politician Divyaspandana aka Ramya for not attending Ambareesh’s cremation, Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar revealed that Ramya had recently gone under the knife due to a major injury on her leg because of which she was unable to walk even a step.

Attesting Shivakumar’s statement, Ramya’s post on her official Instagram account showing bandage tied feet further added to the panic. “That’s me for the next few weeks, What a bummer! but at least my foot is now tumour and cancer free (awaiting biopsy). If any of you feel pain in your body go see a doctor, don’t ignore it like I did. Giant cell tumour of the tendon sheath is one in million and mostly affects women, it’s benign and can turn malignant. Early detection is key. And my biggest lesson—to always listen to my body,” Ramya posted on Instagram explaining her condition.

Revealing the ailing condition of Ramya, Shivakumar told media persons that she had informed him about the situation over the phone.

“I had also called her to be present during the cremation. But she had told me that she slipped and hurt her leg badly,” Shivakumar said.

However, the social media was abuzz with the reports that Ramya is recovering form Osteoclastoma—a tumour of bone.

Meanwhile, Ramya was being trolled on the social media, for not attending the funeral of Ambareesh.

Up to 7 pm on Tuesday, it was liked by 5,427 people, retweeted by 1,074 persons, and had attracted 379 comments, most of them in Kannada, criticising her for not showing up during the funeral of Ambareesh.

Following the demise of Ambareesh, she had tweeted, saying “Extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Ambareesh uncle. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to his family. Will always remember him fondly.”
