2 engineers in ACB net

ACB sleuths have arrested Panchayat Raj Engineering Mangaluru division office Technical Assistant and Junior Engineer for accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 for approving a tender to construct a building of Government PU College at Kalasa in Mudigere taluk.

The arrested are technical assistant Sooryanarayana Bhat and junior engineer Sudin. The duo were working in the office of Panchayat Raj Engineering Department Superintending Engineer.
The duo were arrested while accepting bribe from contractor Adam, a resident of Bapunagara in Mudigere.

Tender was invited for the construction of PU College building at Kalasa. Adam who had applied was selected in the bid. A few days ago, Sudin called Adam and informed that Superintending Engineer is asking for 1% of the bid price to approve the tender. Accordingly, he placed a demand for Rs 50,000. Later, the amount was brought down Rs 25,000.

Adam had submitted a complaint to the ACB sleuths. The ACB sleuths arrested the duo while accepting the bribe.

The ACB sleuths have recovered additional amount of Rs 26,000 from the bag of Sooryanarayana Bhat. All the files related to the tender have been seized.
