Airstrike: Organisations celebrate Vijayotsava

Vijayotsava was observed in front of Venkatramana Temple at Car Street in Mangaluru on Tuesday.

Members of various organisations celebrated the airstrike carried out by the IAF fighters in a pre-dawn strike on terror camps across the Line of Control, in Mangaluru on Tuesday.

Sri Rama Sene, Mangaluru, celebrated Vijayotsava at Mallikatte Circle by bursting crackers and distributing sweets.

A large number of people offered special prayers at the Venkataramana Temple on Car Street. They sought strength for the soldiers to fight, and also burst crackers. Volunteers cleaned the thrash that had piled up due to the bursting of crackers on the Car Street.

District Congress Committee members too observed Vijayotsava and celebrated the success of IAF’s airstrike at the party office.

ABVP city unit secretary Vikas Katipalla said, “The airstrike was a fitting reply to the Pulwama ambush in which 49 CRPF personnel were killed. It was justice to the CRPF personnel who were killed in the attack. Their sacrifices have not gone waste and it was made known to the entire world through the airstrike.”

Sweets were distributed on the occasion.

Dakshina Kannada Jilla Muslim Okkutta has lauded the efforts of IAF personnel in targetting the terrorist camps in retaliation to the Pulwama incident.

Okkutta president K Ashraf said, “The Pulwama incident is the biggest tragedy wherein 49 CRPF personnel were killed. The Indian Air Force and our government should be appreciated for taking the attack seriously and by launching an airstrike on the terrorist camps.”
