Preparations are underway for the swearing-in ceremony of the new Maharashtra government at Azad Maidan in Mumbai.

Mumbai: In a show of unity ahead of government formation, leaders of the Maha Yuti on Tuesday visited the historic Azad Maidan in Mumbai, where the new government would be sworn in amid the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and who’s who of India and consular corps. 

Amid the tussle for key posts and portfolios among the Maha Yuti partners, it was a big message and indication that everything was fine.

Leaders of the BJP, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led NCP together visited the Azad Maidan and inspected the arrangements. 

Officials of the Maharashtra government, Raj Bhavan, Mumbai Police and BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation too visited the spot for overseeing the arrangements of the grand event. 

For the BJP-led NDA its a major event as the Maha Yuti has secured 235 seats in the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly giving a heavy blow to Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi-I.N.D.I.A. opposition bloc. 

The team of the Maha Yuti was led by state BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

It comprised senior BJP leaders Girish Mahajan and Pravin Darekar.

From the Shiv Sena side, senior leaders Gulabrao Patil and Sanjay Shirsat were there while from the NCP Hasan Mushrif, Dhananjay Munde and Anil Bhaidas Patil were present. 

Besides Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Public Health and Family Welfare Minister and BJP President J P Nadda, top BJP leaders, other union ministers, CMs of BJP-ruled states are among those who would be attending the swearing-in ceremony.

The who’s who of India including those from politics, business, entertainment, sports, literature besides saints would also be present on the occasion.
