For these students, years of toiling and dedication have yielded good results.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Sharada College student Narayan Pai has secured second rank in engineering stream.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He said he wishes to pursue his engineering in NITK. He had written JEE (Main) and has emerged as the topper in the college.</p>.<p class="bodytext">In the MIT entrance, he has scored fourth rank.</p>.<p class="bodytext">A resident of Dongarkery in Mangaluru, Narayan is the son of Canara Bank Regional office Divisional Manager Surendra Pai and Sudha Pai.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He said that he was interested in Physics since the beginning. “I was studying day today lessons daily.”</p>.<p class="bodytext">He had studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya-II at Ekkur till 10th standard.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He had scored 10 CGPA in class 10 CBSE.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Expressing happiness over son’s achievement, mother Sudha Pai said that her son was hard working. “I had expected him to score well. The second rank in Engineering stream has increased our happiness.”</p>.<p class="CrossHead"><strong>Fourth rank</strong></p>.<p class="bodytext">Vaishvi P J of Expert PU College, Valacchil, has secured fourth rank in CET for admission to Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking to <span class="italic">DH</span>, an elated Vaishvi said she is happy and excited over her ranking. “Now, I am waiting for my NEET results. I want to pursue MBBS and hence, I had not concentrated on Mathematics.”</p>.<p class="bodytext">Vaishvi hails from Chikkaballapur district. She said she had come to Mangaluru to pursue her PU education.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“I scored 98% in PU exam with full marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. During my I PU, I had not concentrated much on these exams. I was concentrating mainly on strengthening the concepts. In second PU, I concentrated for entrance exams. I was determined and hard working to excel in my studies. I used to study for three to four hours daily. I was attentive in classroom,” she added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“I did not expect to get a top rank. I had expected within 50 rank. Hard work has paid good results. I hope to get good ranking in NEET as well,” she said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Vaishvi is daughter of Jagadish P S, a businessman.
