Single gateway for all complaints

 If the residents of Rajendra Nagar in central Delhi are unhappy with any government officer or unsatisfied regarding the development work being conducted in their area, they can now just log onto a dedicated website and register their complaint.

The official website of Rajendra Nagar Assembly constituency — www.rajindernagar.org — was launched by local MLA and Delhi transport minister Ramakant Goswami on Sunday.
Those behind the idea said the website will be a single gateway for registering complaints against officers of government agencies like Delhi Police, municipal corporation, Delhi Development Authority, Delhi Jal Board, Public Welfare Department, State Election Commission Officers and power distribution company BSES, apart from the local MLAs and councillors.

“Any resident of the area can register complaint on the grievance page of the website. Within 24 hours, the moderator of the website will forward it to the MLA and officials concerned,” said a member of resident welfare association (RWA).

“An acknowledgement of the complaint received will be sent to the complainant through SMS. The status of the action taken, will also be sent to the complainant within a week.”
The moderator has been asked to funnel out unnecessary complaints, which are abusive and political in nature or likely to hurt religious sentiments.

To make it easier for the residents to identify the right officer, complete details of officers — including their department, designation and phone number — posted in the constituency has been provided on the website.

It will also have details of all the development work being done by the concerned departments and the municipal corporation.

Officials said the website will soon have complete map of the areas where development work is being conducted under the MLA fund.

“The website will help in bringing transparency in functioning of the field officers and the elected representatives,” said Goswami. The officials concerned will not be able to cite excuses about the work not being done in their jurisdiction as they will be kept in the loop about the complaint, he added.

At least 150 residents representing 28 RWAs were present during the launch at Ahinsa Bhawan at Shankar Road.
