Now onwards, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will be gearing up for the electoral battle in Varanasi. The party has asked members and supporters to register their names for the campaign there. The appeal was made for two other constituencies — Amethi and Allahabad.

Senior AAP leader Kumar Vishwas is contesting from Amethi, and Adarsha Shastri has been fielded from Allahabad. Arvind Kejriwal will take on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi. The city  will go to polls on May 12, while Amethi and Allahabad will see voting on May 7.

Along with AAP workers and volunteers, important leaders, including Yogendra Yadav and Anand Kumar among others will move to Varanasi for the big day. Yadav and Kumar are free to campaign for Arvind Kejriwal as polling in their constituencies in Gurgaon and North East Delhi is over.
