A teenage Austrian girl who fled to Syria is reportedly been beaten to death as she tried to flee the ISIS stronghold of Raqqa.

17 year old Samra Kesinovic and her friend Sabina Selimovic became 'poster girls' for ISIS after they arrived in Syria in April 2014. It is believed both Samra and Sabina married Jihadists soon after arriving in Syria, reports The Independent.

David Scharia, a UN counter-terrorism expert said, "We received information just recently about two 15-year-old girls, of Bosnian origin, who left Austria, where they had been living in recent years ."

'Both were recruited by Islamic State. One was killed in the fighting in Syria, the other has disappeared.' he added.

Their photos branding Kalashnikov rifles and surrounded by armed men were being used by ISIS as recruitment posters for young girls.

Mirsad O , an Islamic preacher from Bosnia living in Vienna allegedly brainwashed the girls  to join the jihad. He was arrested for his role in a terrorist funding network based in Austria.  But he has denied the new accusation.
