A body of an unidentified man, in his mid-sixties, was recovered from a jute sack found at the New Delhi Railway Station on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

There were no visible injury marks on the victim, initial medical examination has indicated that the victim might have been strangled to death, added police.

“The body was found in a sack, which was hidden under a heap of potatoes at rail yard number nine – where trains are washed before their subsequent journey,” said a senior police officer. The police suspect the man’s body may have been brought to the Capital on  Magadha Express.

“Enquiries revealed that three trains had been washed at the yard recently – the Shatabdi, the Rajdhani and the Magadha Express. Since the Magadha Express was the last to have been treated at the yard, it is probable that the victim’s body came on it,” the officer said.

In a similar incident, the body of a 45-year-old photo shop owner was found in a park in south Delhi’s Lado Sarai. He  had been missing since Monday. The body bore injury marks
