Rain throws normal life out of gear

Heavy rain which lashed across Mudigere and Kadur taluk threw normal life out of gear on Friday.

Kottigehara, Banakal, Charmadi Ghat, Balooru, Niduvale, Koove, Bhairapura, and Devarunda received heavy rain.

The water-level in river Hemavathi, Bhadra, Oorubage, Japavathi, Chikkalla has increased considerably.

The incessant rain has inundated paddy fields. The poor visibility on Charmadi Ghat disrupted vehicular movement. The rain since Thursday has affected the harvesting of vegetables. As a result, the supply of vegetables to the shandy was affected on Friday.

The uprooting of a tree on Gendehalli in Beloor disrupted the movement of vehicles on Beloor-Mudigere stretch. As a result, vehicles travelled via Gonibeedu-Cheekanahalli-Beloor.

Heavy rain in Kadur affected the removal of weeds in onion crop and the harvest of tomato.

Mathighatta, Kuppalu, Keresanthe, Tangali, Malleshwara, Maccheri, Mallidevihalli, Soorapura, Yagati, Chikkabasooru, M Kodihalli, Emmedoddi, Sakharayapattana, Mallapura experienced incessant rain.

The check dams are overflowing in the taluk. Water has started flowing to Madhagakere, the lifeline of Kadur taluk. There was water in Vishnusamudrakere that had gone dry in the last few years.
