Hassan DC's transfer is an administrative matter, says CM

Last Updated 09 March 2018, 17:24 IST

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, on Friday, said that the stay order issued by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), holding the transfer order of Hassan Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri, has not caused any embarrassment to the government.

Speaking to reporters in Periyapatna, he said that it is an administrative matter and it is not right to speak about it.

Religion tag

Replying to a query on whether there was disagreement among the Cabinet colleagues over the separate religion tag to the Lingayat community, Siddaramaiah said, "Justice Nagmohan Das Committee report had come up for discussion during the Cabinet meeting. But, due to time constraint, it could not be discussed in detail. There is no difference of opinion between the ministers in this issue. As more time is required for a detailed discussion, it had to be postponed."

State v/s Kannada flag

Commenting on the flag issue, the CM said, the state flag and Kannada flag are different. The state flag cannot be used at all places like Kannada flag. The state flag should be given the same respect as the National flag. It will be used during government programmes and Rajyotsava celebrations. All rules would be implemented after the Centre gives permission, he said.

Nobody has opposed the state flag in Karnataka, except Vatal Nagaraj, he said. Commenting on the recent statements issued by the JD(S) leader A H Vishwanath over the recent attack on Lokayukta Justice Vishwanath Shetty, the CM said, he might have issued the statements to make H D Deve Gowda happy.
