Bison spotted in Lokavalli

A bison surprised the villagers of Lokavalli in Hale Mudigere Gram Panchayat limits by making an abrupt entry during the early morning on Wednesday.

The bison, which was initially spotted at Kalleshwara Coffee Estate on Wednesday at 6.30 am, started lurking around the village.

When the stray dogs started barking at the bison, in an attempt to frighten it, the bison terrified the canines by chasing them.

As people started gathering, the bison made its way to Tatkola forest through areca plantations.

Bison have been spoiling paddy seedlings at Lokavalli, Bidarahalli and Bharigadde areas. Therefore, the Forest Department should take up measures to prevent bison menace, said, villagers.
