Hundreds of devotees became part of the ‘Brahmakalashotsava’ celebrations at Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha temple in Mangaluru on Sunday.

The religious rituals on the last day of Brahmakalashotsava celebrations were witnessed by the devotees.

The rituals began at 5 am in the morning. ‘Mahaganapathi Homa’, the sacred fire ritual and ‘Gurupooje’ were offered.

The ‘Shikhara’ of the Rajagopura, tower of the temple, was installed during the auspicious ‘Kumbha Lagna’ followed by ‘Kalashabhisheka’, ‘Adhivasam’, ‘Veerakanda Peetha Pooja’, ‘Vahana Pratishthe’, ‘Kalashabhisheka’ and ‘Dhwajarohana’.

During the ‘Brahmakalashabhisheka’ in the noon, 1,008 Kalasha Abhisheka was offered to the presiding deity, Kudroli Gokarnanatha, as a part of sanctification. ‘Naivedya’ and ‘Prasanna Pooje’ were also held later. ‘Prasada’ (Food) were served to devotees after ‘Mahamangalarathi.’

The ‘Vaidik’ rituals were held under the guidance of Shivagiri Mutt Pontiff Vishudananda Swamji, Sugadananda Tantri and Lakshmana Shanti.

Former Union Minister Janardana Poojary, his spouse Malati J Poojary and Temple Committee Chairman H S Sairam were present among others.
