Bullets fired at house in Madikeri

Last Updated 31 July 2018, 06:30 IST

An unidentified person allegedly fired at a house, in Madikeri, on Sunday night. The house belongs to LIC employee Janardan, who lives on Galibeedu Road.

There have been no casualties even though three rounds were fired at the house.

Janardan lives with his family members in the house located next to Field Marshal K M Cariappa College.

“The sound of firing was heard when members of the house were speaking to their relatives who had visited them on Sunday, at 11 pm. An unidentified person was seen pointing a gun towards the window. When the members in the house turned on the light, he fired at the window,” said Janardhan.

When the family members raised an alarm, the man fled the spot in his car. The unidentified man seemed to be in an inebriated state. "There were some other people in the car,” said house owner Janardan. He added that he does not have any enemies.

A case has been registered at Madikeri Town Police station. Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunder Raj and Inspector Medappa visited the spot and an inquiry is in progress.
