<p>Adobe India is working closely with industry associations to create awareness about software piracy among SME clusters, said a company official.<br /><br /></p>.<p> “Piracy is more of absence of awareness than a price quotient,” Adobe South Asia Managing Director Umang Bedi said. He added that the company is offering discounted software to SMEs in order to ease out their software buying problems.<br /><br />“Most of the piracy happens in SMEs and in consumer segment. However, consumer piracy is difficult to track and enterprise customers are getting very conscious about the issue,” Bedi explained.<br /><br />A recent study by Business Software Alliance (BSA) put the piracy rate in India at 63 per cent and loss in commercial value of $2,930 million. The company has recently launched their monthly subscription model for Creative Suite 6, which experts believe was to tackle piracy; in India an annual subscription plan is available for its Creative Cloud Team Ready.<br /><br /> When asked if it plans to bring the monthly subscription model to India, Bedi said that the company is ‘exploring possibilities.’ Adobe also launched Acrobat XI software on Wednesday.</p>
