<p>Bengaluru: Radhakishan Damani, the founder of Avenue Supermarts (DMart) topped the Hurun India Top 200 Self-Made Entrepreneurs of the Millennium 2024 list, released on Wednesday. Founders of food and grocery delivery platforms Zomato and Swiggy - Deepinder Goyal, and Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy followed, in second and third, respectively.</p>.<p>Out of the top 10 companies by self-made entrepreneurs, three are from Bengaluru: Majety and Reddy of Swiggy, Nitin and Nikhil Kamath of Zerodha, and Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar of Razorpay.</p>.<p>Damani's Dmart which is currently valued at Rs 3.42 lakh crore had topped the list last year as well. Flipkart, Paytm, Max Healthcare, and Cred, who were among the top 10 most valued last year, have dropped off.</p>.<p>Among the youngest entrepreneurs are 21-year old Kaivalya Vohra and 22-year-old Aadit Palicha, the co-founders of Zepto, both ranked 15th in the list. </p>.<p>In the latest list, fourth-place Makemytrip, founded by Deep Kalra and Rajesh Magow, and sixth placed Policy Bazaar, founded by Yashish Dahiya and Alok Bansal, were the new entrants in the top 10. </p>.<p>Zepto was the biggest gainer in valuation growth, with a 259 per cent increase in value, followed by Signature Global and Zomato. Ghazal Alagh of Mamaearth, whose valuation stands at Rs 15,500 crore, is the youngest woman on the list.</p>.<p>The 200 companies in the list employ about 10 lakh professionals, the report added. Notably, 54 per cent of these companies have a workforce exceeding 1,000 employees, with Quess Corp leading at 5,22,434 employees and Paytm following with 28,107 employees.</p>.<p>The companies hail from 15 states, with Karnataka, Maharashtra and Haryana leading the pack, followed by Delhi, Tamil Nadu, and Gujarat. Bengaluru emerged as a preferred location, with 66 of the top 200 companies headquartered here. Meanwhile, Mumbai stood second at 36. IIT Delhi contributed the largest number of founders to the list.</p>.<p>When it comes to industry distribution, the majority of the companies (50) in the list were from the financial services sector, followed by healthcare (25), consumer goods companies (8) and so on.
