BYJU’S acquires Math Adventures

Edtech company BYJU’S has acquired Bengaluru-based math learning startup - Math Adventures. This acquisition will help enhance and strengthen the product offering for the upcoming lower grade (K-3) learning programmes.

Math Adventures blends hands-on-activity with technology that is designed to bring fun in learning. It helps children learn through an innovative combination of friendly, short videos and an activity based approach using interactive methods, the company said.

Byju Raveendran, Founder and CEO, BYJU’S said, “Math Adventures’ activities will help us with our K-3 product development. The founder comes with a strong math background along with a research and development background in math activities. This partnership will help us further develop and create engaging learning programs for lower grade students. The Math Adventures team will now be a part of the content and R&D team at BYJU’S.”

Growing consistently at 100% annually for the last 3 years, BYJU’S has seen 20% month-on-month growth crossing Rs 120 crore in revenue in June. It aims to cross Rs 1,400 crore in revenue this year. With 22 million registered users and 1.4 million annual paid subscribers, BYJU’S is the most popular personalised learning app amongst students in classes 4-12.

With an average time of 57 minutes being spent by a student on the app every day from over 1,700 cities, the BYJU’S app has been designed to adapt itself to the unique learning style of every student.

Till date, BYJU’S has raised over $200 million from Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, Tencent, Sequoia Capital, Sofina, Verlinvest, IFC and Aarin Capital.
