CII welcomes AIADMK victory in TN

Extending his congratulations to AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa on her overwhelming mandate in the 2011 polls, CII Southern region Chairman T T Ashok said they would "look forward to revive the organisation's engagement with the government".

Ashok said, "CII feels it Is essential to address very critical areas that will slow down the growth of Tamil Nadu, areas those related to availability of quality power, rapid development of infrastructure and enhancing the availability of skilled labour."

"The CII assures the incoming Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu its full support and cooperation in making Tamil Nadu the number one state in the country," he added.

He said CII members would meet J Jayalalithaa at the "earliest opportunity" to find how it can work with the new government in moving Tamil Nadu forward.
