Crude oil futures decline amid low demand

Crude oil futures on Thursday fell by 0.81 per cent to Rs 2,923 per barrel as participants reduced their positions on low demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for October delivery eased by Rs 24, or 0.81 per cent, to Rs 2,923 per barrel with a business volume of 3,258 lots.

Crude oil for November delivery was quoting lower by Rs 32, or 1.07 per cent, at Rs 2,970 per barrel with an open interest of 40 lots.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 1.05 per cent lower at USD 39.51 per barrel, while Brent crude was quoting 0.98 per cent lower at USD 41.36 per barrel in New York.
