Finnish firm to beef up Bangalore R&D centre

According to Tieto Corporation Global Service Lines Executive Vice President Sampo Salonen the company aims to optimise its customer closeness and develop larger and sutainable delivery sites in India by consolidating its operations in Pune and Bangalore.   
Tieto, he said, has decided to shift major chunk of its current operation at its Hyderabad centre to Bangalore by end of June and turn it as main site of operation in India. Most people in Hyderabad site will be offered jobs in Tieto’s  Bangalore and Pune centres. Currently, Tieto employs over 1,000 people in India.
“Focusing our telecom-related services to Bangalore will bring us closer to our customers and have better opportunities to increase business engagements with them. Further, Bangalore offers good talents, competitive atmosphere and interesting business opportunities,” he added.
