Promoter holding at 51% for new banks mooted

Going by the gist of comments on the Discussion Paper on ‘Entry of New Banks in the Private Sector,’ released by RBI on its website on Thursday, the range of comments it received has been very wide and does not indicate consensus on any of the issues.  They are reflective of sectoral positions, i.e. of banks, NBFCs and industrial houses.
