3,000 students battle it out in Verbattle contest

Around 3,000 students are taking part in the Verbattle competition which began on Wednesday.

The contest is held in four categories - Verbattle Beginner in English for students in 8-12 age group; Verbattle Junior in English for students in 12-16 age group; Verbattle Senior in English for students in the age group of 16 to 24 and Verbattle Kannada for students in the age group of 12 to 16 years.

The winning team of Verbattle Junior will get a cash award of Rs 1 lakh, while it is Rs 30,000 for Verbattle Beginner; Rs 50,000 for Verbattle Senior 50,000 and Rs 20,000 for Verbattle Kannada.

Finals in the city
The competition for Verbattle Beginner will be held in Bengaluru whereas that for Verbattle Junior, Senior and Kannada will be held in the zones of Hubballi, Mangaluru, Bengaluru and Mysuru. The finals will be held in Bengaluru.

ACT FiberNet is the title sponsor for the competition. Garden City College is the host institution for the state-level event.

RV Institutions, Bengaluru and Sahyadri College of Engineering, Mangaluru are the host institutions for the zonal-level competitions.
