Aides of rowdy held for murder

Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths on Wednesday arrested three aides of rowdy Palani, linked to the murder of Arasaiah in Srirangapatana on August 11.

The police said the arrested men are Satish alias Machi from Bhuvaneshwari Nagar near KP Agrahara; Shekar alias Kulla from Handigoodu; and Uday Kumar.

"They were plotting to loot victims when we took them into custody. They all are close aides of Palani, and we have seized a machete, dagger and packets of chili powder from them," said a senior police officer.

"Arasaiah was accused in the murder of Palani's brother Ranganath in 2013. He was out on bail. We had credible information on Palani taking revenge for his brother's murder on Arasaiah for which Satish, Shekar and Kumar had helped," the officer said. "Palani is currently absconding."
